Why is it so important to wear SPF? I thought while it’s bright and sunny would be a perfect time to post this, although it’s important to wear SPF all year round!! 🔥The sun emits 3 Ultra Violet rays, UVA, UVB & UVC. Both UVA & UVB can penetrate directly into our skin as the ozone doesn’t absorb it completely. UVC stops at the stratosphere and where their are holes in the Ozone. So why we need to use SPF that contains UVA & UVB protection is really important... here’s why:
🌈UVA - rays can penetrate up to 1mm into the dermis (deeper layer of skin), damaging all healthy cells the deeper it gets. This ray causes ageing & pigmentation although it has a very slow effect on the skin which you may not see for years. 🌈UVB - these rays only penetrate the epidermis (superficial layer of skin) which cause the bad burns you can get from too much sun exposure. As we age the damage becomes more visible. Both UVA & UVB deplete langerhan cells which are basically skin health & immunity. Too much exposure to UV rays can even cause skin cancer.. which is why it’s EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to protect your skin.
